Vivo X50 receives Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) Update in India [Greyscale Testing]

Last month, Vivo shared the official roll out plan for its Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update. And as per the timeline, the company promised to release the latest update for two phones in January. Vivo V19 and Vivo X50 are scheduled to get the update last month and two weeks back, the company had released the update for the Vivo V19. Now the news comes out that, the Vivo X50 is receiving the Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update in India.

Vivo X50 was announced back in June 2020 with Funtouch OS 10.5 based Android 10 OS. Now the device is receiving its first major OS update in the form of the Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11. Yes, the Funtouch OS India team responded to a user about the release of this update. And the company said the as for now, the update is under greyscale testing, which simply means that the update is in staged rollout phase, soon it will be released through normal OTA channel.

As for now, the information about the software version number, size, and changelog has not shared by the company. But as obvious, the update brings a number of new features, improvements, and newer security patch. Vivo X50 is set to receive the features like a number of visual changes, customizable AOD, Multi-turbo mode 4.0, rounded icons, and a few other changes as well. Other than that, you can use the basic features of Android 11 on the Vivo X50.

If you want to receive the Android 11 update on your Vivo X50 on time, then make sure to update your device to its latest software version. And before updating your smartphone to the new update, make sure to take a backup of important data and also charge your device to at least 40%.

In case you’ve not received the OTA notification on your Vivo X50, then I recommend you to check the updates manually in the system settings. To manually check for updates simply go to Settings on your Vivo X50. And then go to System > Software Update. It will show the available update that you can download and install on your phone.

Before updating your smartphone to the newer update, make sure to charge your device to at least 40% and also take a backup of important data before sideloading the update.
