Vivo V15 starts getting Funtouch OS 11 (Android 11) Update via grayscale testing

Two months ago, Vivo started pushing Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update to the Vivo V15 Pro. Now the company has started rolling out the Android 11 update to the vanilla Vivo V15 through grayscale testing. We can expect that the update should bring a flurry of new features and improvements. The Vivo V15 was announced back in 2019 with Funtouch OS 9.0 based Android Pie 9.0 OS. Last year, it received its first major OS upgrade in the form of Android 10 update. Now it’s time for the second major OS update. For the time being, the update is not available for everyone, in replying to a user’s query, Vivo India has confirmed about the Vivo V15 Android 11 (grayscale) roll out.

Here’s what Vivo India said, when user asked about the Android 11 update for Vivo 15.

“Hi, vivo India is here to assist you. We have released the Android 11 for vivo V15 handset under the grayscale test for some handset. If there will be no negative feedback then we will release the update frequency.”

However, while in replying to some other users, the company confirms that Android 11 beta for Vivo V15 will be available from end of this month (June 2021). Here’s the information shared with the new tweet.

“Hello, vivo India is delighted to see you. We would like to inform you that the expected time of releasing Android 11 beta version for vivo V15 handset is end of June’ 2021. Please wait for sometime, soon you will also get the Android 11 update in your handset.”

Talking about the features and changes, then the new update on Vivo V15 brings feature like number of visual changes, customizable AOD, Multi-turbo mode 4.0, rounded icons, and a few other changes as well. Other than that, you can use the basic features of Android 11 on the Vivo V15.

If you’re using Vivo V15, then make sure to update your smartphone to the newest available software. Usually, the new update on Oppo, Vivo, or Realme phones are available to the users whose device is running on the latest software version. You can check the updates manually by heading over to the Settings > System > Software Update. It will show the available update that you can download and install on your phone.

Before sideloading the new update, make sure to take a backup of important data, also charge your smartphone to at least 30%.
