Vivo Origin OS Update: Features, Roadmap, and Eligible Devices

Last Month, The Chinese smartphone brand, Vivo, announced the Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update. Now, Vivo has finally uncovered its newest custom skin – Origin OS, a replacement for the Funtouch OS. Obviously, the Origin OS is based on the Android 11. Here you can check all about details of the upcoming Origin OS including its features, official roadmap, and list of eligible devices or supported devices.

Vivo’s offshoot Realme and Oppo already announced its next-gen custom skin in the form of Realme UI 2.0 and ColorOS 11. Now the newer custom skin is all set to hit Vivo smartphones.

Vivo Origin OS Release Date

Origin OS has finally announced by the Vivo in China, the company detailed the features of its new skin. Today, It will be announced globally, hopefully, the company may also announce the upcoming Vivo X60 lineup alongside the Origin OS.

Since Funtouch OS 11 has been announced, Vivo users have been eagerly waiting for the Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update. While the company is working on new software, it is expected that it will soon be available for all Vivo phones. Yup, the same phones will are set to receive the Funtouch OS update. Hopefully, the same skin will also hit the iQOO smartphones.

Vivo Origin OS Features

Vivo flaunts the features of its newest skin – Origin OS, at its annual Developer Conference in China. Origin OS bumped up Vivo smartphones with a revamped user interface, thanks to the interactive widgets. One of the stand-out features of the new Origin OS is the, interactive widgets. Although, It also brings a slew of new gestures, memory optimization, and much more. You can check the complete list of Origin OS features below.

Starting with the visual changes, then the Origin OS is set to overhauled the UI with new icons, interactive widgets, new AODs, live wallpapers aka dynamic wallpapers, and much more. Not only this, but the Origin OS also bring a set of new static wallpapers to the Vivo smartphones, will share once available to us.

Interactive Widgets

Vivo brings interactive widgets support to its smartphones, these widgets convey the information in simplest way. Tapping a widget will show you the additional needed information. These widgets are the highly customizable ones, you can easily resize it in any size you want and you can also rearrange these widgets on the home screen of your smartphone. The music widget on the Origin OS helps you navigating the songs easily directly from your home screen.

Multi-turbo Mode 5.0

Vivo bumped up the Multi-turbo Mode to 4.0 in its Funtouch OS 11 skin. Now the company knocks up the Multi-turbo 5.0 to its smartphones with memory optimization and a few more optimizations. It will allow you to transfer the data quickly, thanks to the Memory Fusion tech, which uses extra memory while transferring the data. Obviously, it also has gaming acceleration engine support and enhanced PC-grade liquid cooling system support.

26 New Gestures

Origin OS bumped up with twenty-six useful gestures. These gestures can be accessible from the bottom of the screen. Vivo also pushes a new feature with the Origin OS, dubbed as SuperCard. SuperCard permits you to access mobile payments in a single swipe gesture, even when the screen is in off state. All these gestures are useful on the big display smartphones, like the Vivo X50 Pro.

New Icons

Funtouch OS 11 based Android 11 update on Vivo smartphones bring more rounded-icons. Now Origin OS allows you to customize the icons as you want. The launch presentation of Origin OS flaunts rounded icons on the home screen and the square ones in the app drawer.

New Wallpapers

Nearby Sharing

Remember Nearby Share feature launched recently by Google to take on Apple’s Airdrop. Google has recently pushed the Nearby Share to Samsung phones and It is coming to other devices as well. It will be available in the Origin OS for Vivo smartphones. This feature allows you to share files between devices easily, just like Airdrop.

Notification History

As the name suggests, it allows you to check the notifications that you accidentally dismissed from the notification panel. This feature made its debut with the Android 11 and also coming to the Vivo smartphones with the Origin OS.

      The afore-listed devices have higher chances to get the new OriginOS, while the official list of phones to get OriginOS update is not available yet, we’ll update it once available.

      According to me, there is very little chance, that Vivo will bring Origin OS for the Vivo Z1x. Although, we have to wait for the official roadmap.

      Origin OS official roadmap is not yet available, will share more details once it is available. Hopefully, the Origin OS will be available for the Vivo V17, V19, and V20 lineup.
