Upgrade your Google phone to Android O

On 22nd March Google announced their latest Android O preview for some selected devices such as Google pixel, Google pixel XL, Google pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player.

So if you have one of the devices listed above you can follow steps shown below to upgrade your phone to latest Android O.

“This process will erase all data on your phone so take a backup of your data”.

  1. First, download the suitable System image for your phone. Click Here to download.
  2. Extract the Downloaded Zip file.
  3.  Also, you need to download fastboot.zip (Link) and usb driver.zip (Link) and unzip both files.
  4. Copy bootloader + image + radio file from the extracted firmware folder and paste on the fastboot folder.
  5. Go to fastboot bootloader mode (hold power+volume down key) in your and connect the phone with USB cable to your computer.
  6. Make sure that your device is connected properly check from device manager.
  7. Then copy your fastboot folder to the desktop.
  8. Now open cmd and locate fastboot path by using cd desktop command and press enter.
  9. Then type fastboot flash bootloader file name.img
  10. Then fastboot reboot-bootloader
  11. Then fastboot flash radio file name.img
  12. Then fastboot reboot-bootloader
  13. Then fastboot -w update image-blahblah.zip
  14. At last fastboot reboot
  • file name means the respective file name in your folder
