The OnePlus 9 series was the first OnePlus phone series to get the Android 12 based stable OxygenOS 12 back in December. But it was limited to the unlocked variant and was not available on the carrier locked phone. Finally after a long wait, T-Mobile’s OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are getting a stable Android 12 update.
The OnePlus 9 series is the latest flagship phone series from OnePlus and was launched last year with Android 11 out-of-the-box. While the unlocked variant received the update soon after its release, users with the Carrier Locked models are still waiting for the update. But the wait is finally over as T-Mobile starts rolling out stable Android 12 for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
The Android 12 for OnePlus 9 comes with build number LE2117_11.C.16 and the Android 12 for OnePlus 9 Pro comes with build number LE2127_11.C.16. It is the first major update for carrier locked OnePlus 9 and so expect multiple new features. Also the update weighs more so make sure to update through WiFi.
Android 12 for T-Mobile OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro come with February 2022 Android security patch. Talking about new features it comes with three dark mode options, optimized icons, additional style options for cards, WLB 2.0, and more. Although the changelog only shows a couple of changes, you will find many improvements as well as features mentioned above.
T Mobile OnePlus 9/Pro Android 12 Update Changelog
- Updated to Android 12 OS
- Android security patch upgraded to February 2022
- General improvements and fixes
Like other Android updates, this is also a staged rollout which means it can take a few days to arrive on all eligible phones. If you own a T Mobile OnePlus 9 or OnePlus 9 Pro, you will receive the update soon if you haven’t received it already. As carrier locked phones do not have the option for the local upgrade you will have to wait for the OTA update to arrive on your phone. You can manually check for updates by going to Settings > System > System Updates.
