Sony has finally joined the race to kick off the Android 15 update. The company has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 15 update for Xperia 1 VI. If you own the Xperia 1 VI, you can try out the new features after upgrading to the new software upgrade.
Sony is seeding the new software upgrade with the 69.1.A.2.78 version number. The smartphone was launched with the Android 14 operating system, so, Android 15 is the first major OS upgrade for the smartphone. Despite being a major upgrade, it weighs 940MB in size, you can quickly install it on your smartphone.
At the moment, the update is in a rolling phase; a wider rollout should commence in a matter of time. Sony has officially confirmed the rollout, sharing the details on its website. The update is already available to many users in Europe, here’s a screenshot shared by Reddit user Certain_Adeptness873.
Sony Xperia 1 VI Android 15 update brings a flurry of new features and changes. The list of features includes Private Space, Partial Screen Sharing, Satellite Connectivity Support, Earthquake alert system, Offline maps for Wear OS, App Archiving, and more.
If you own Sony Xperia 1 VI, the update can arrive anytime. Please ensure your phone is running the latest available software upgrade. The update will be available over the air. So make sure to check for update regularly.
You can check for the update in Settings > About Phone > Software Update > check for the new updates. Once the update is available, create a backup and charge your phone to at least 50% before updating the device.
