Sony starts Rolling Android 10 for Xperia XZ3, XZ2, XZ2 Compact & XZ2 Premium [with Download Link]

Sony is still in the Mobile phone business because of its Xperia series. And it does have good phones in the series like Xperia 1, Xperia XZ3, Xperia XZ2, Xperia 10, Xperia A2 and more. It’s now more than a quarter since the release of Android 10 and almost all the flagship phones have received the update. But Xperia users were still missing the update and finally, it lands on Xperia XZ3, XZ2, XZ2 Compact, and XZ2 Premium. Here you can Download Android 10 for Xperia XZ3, XZ2, XZ2 Compact, and XZ2 Premium.

Many users have reported that they started receiving the update in various regions mainly in Europe. The update brings Android 10 goodies like enhanced security settings, Dark Mode and more. But you may not find some home screen and gesture features but you can enable it with tweaks. I will share the tweak below for convenience. Now coming back to the update information, both Single and Dual SIM phones are receiving the update.

The update brings the latest December Security Patch and it comes with software version 52.1.A.0.532. We managed to get hands on the process to download Android 10 Firmware for Xperia XZ3, and XZ2 devices. The OTA update is around 730 MB and the firmware is around 2.3GB. Till now we didn’t get the changelog of the Xperia XZ3 Android 10 update. So we will now see how we can download the Android 10 firmware to update manually.

The update is rolling out in batches and so it is possible that the update may reach late to your device. But if you want to immediately update your device then you can easily install the Android 10 update with either OTA file or either the Firmware. And we found the way to download Firmware for installing the update with full features. Below is the method to download full Android 10 firmware for your Xperia device.

  1. Download the XperiFirm tool on your PC.
  2. After downloading the tool extract it on your PC.
  3. Then run the XperiFirm tool on your computer.
  4. Now in the tool find your device and double click on it.
  5. Choose the correct market and then click on the Available Firmware (check for correct version).
  6. Then click on the Download button and choose the folder where you want to save the firmware.
  7. It will start downloading the Android 10 firmware for your Xperia device.

As you already know that the latest Android 10 update for Xperia XZ3, XZ2 doesn’t come with the latest navigation gestures and latest launcher. But you can enable it by following the below tips.

  1. Download the Xperia Home app on your PC.
  2. Set it as the default launcher.
  3. Change the navigation gestures from the launcher settings.

It will give experience to all the users. But many users have reported that the app is not working on Android 10. So you may have to wait for the next update which must be available in a few days as Android 10 is now available for more devices.

The update is not good as expected and we can hope that other features may be available in the next update.
