The One UI 7 is the next major update, based on Android 15, for Samsung Galaxy. But official details about One UI 7 are not available yet. Samsung has announced the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24), a software-focused event where information about One UI 7 are expected to be revealed.
The date was revealed in June via Samsung Developer’s X (twitter) account, but today Samsung has announced SDC24 with a bunch of information about the event.
At the event, Samsung will announce One UI 7 along with some of its features. Not just One UI 7, Samsung will also talk about Galaxy AI, Tizen, Smart Things, Samsung Health, Knox, and more.
The SDC24 event Keynote will begin on October 3 at 10:00 AM PT. Users can watch the event remotely or can also attend the event at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in California.
JH Han, CEO and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division, will kick off the event with a Keynote focused on Samsung’s vision of AI. We already know that the event will be dominated by AI features for all of Samsung’s software products. But Samsung will also officially announce the One UI 7.
Samsung won’t reveal all the One UI 7 features if they follow last year’s pattern, but we will get to know about some of them. Also, One UI 7 beta testing may start a few weeks before the event, so more features will be uncovered through the beta process.
Google has delayed the Android 15 and is expected to release it in mid-October for Pixel phones. However, this shouldn’t affect Samsung’s progress because they are already behind schedule. Before One UI 7, Samsung also has to roll out One UI 6.1.1 which they should have already started rolling out.
Last year, the SDC23 took place on October 5, and the One UI 6 was released on the last week of October. So we can also expect stable One UI 7 to arrive by the end of October 2024 and Galaxy S24 will be the first series to get it. But most of the latest Galaxy devices will receive One UI 7 by the end of this year.
