Samsung rolls out One UI 6.1.1 update for Galaxy Tab S9 FE

Samsung has started pushing the anticipated Galaxy AI-based One UI 6.1.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and FE+. The update comes out one week after the rollout for premium models – Galaxy Tab S9 FE and FE+. The best thing is that it bags a slew of useful AI features including Sketch to Image, Recordings Transcription, PDF Overlay Translation, and more.

Samsung is pushing for a new software upgrade for Fan Edition tablets in mainland South Korea. A broader rollout should follow in the coming days. If you own the Galaxy Tab S9 FE or FE+, then you will receive the new software upgrade ending with the following software version numbers:

  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE (WiFi) – X510XXU5BXHB
  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE (WiFi + 5G) – X516NKOU5BXHB
  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (WiFi) – X610XXU5BXHB
  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (WiFi + 5G) – X616NKOU5BXHB

One UI 6.1.1 software upgrade will bump up the security patch version to August 2024. In terms of changes, the update on the Galaxy Tab S9 FE lands with features like Transcribe Recordings, PDF Overlay Translation, Sketch to Image, Portrait Studio, Live Effect, Interpreter gets a new Listening mode, and Chat Assist gets Composer.

If you own the Galaxy Tab S9 FE model and reside in South Korea, then you can now update your tablet to the new Galaxy AI-powered update. If not, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.

Remember to back up your important data before installing the update. No, the update will not erase your data, but take a backup just in case. Also, charge your phone to at least 50%.
