Samsung rolls out One UI 2.5 Update for Galaxy S9 & S9+

A new Galaxy member has joined the One UI 2.5 club and it is Galaxy S9. Samsung Galaxy S9 receives the One UI 2.5 stable update just after the Galaxy Note 9 phones which received the update 2-3 days ago. It is probably the last major update for Galaxy S9. As for now, Samsung has no plans to release One UI 3.0 for Galaxy S9. But you can expect regular Security updates. Samsung already started working on One UI 3.0 which is based on Android 11. But it will not be released for the Galaxy S9 series. And this is probably the last major update for the Galaxy S9 series. Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ One UI 2.5 comes with many new features as well as the latest October 2020 security patch. Samsung Galaxy S9 (Plus) One UI 2.5 Update – What’s New

The update comes with the same features that Samsung pushed in the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.5 update. If you know about the One UI 2.5 update new features, then expect all the features to be included in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

The latest One UI 2.5 update brings the latest October 2020 security patch on the Galaxy S9 series. It also brings all the One UI 2.5 features that were introduced with the Galaxy Note 20 series.

Some of the main features that you get to experience in this update is support for wireless DeX, Single Take camera feature, improved Samsung Keyboard app and lot more.

And undoubtedly the update comes with bug fixes and stability improvement. The Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9+ will not receive One UI 3.0 update so this is the last major update for the device. But we never know for sure, Samsung can surprise Galaxy S9 users with the Android 11 update.

If you have Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ phone then you can expect the latest One UI 2.5 update on your device in the coming days. It is because the rollout is in phases so it can take some to reach on all the S9 series phones. But if you are curious and want to experience the latest update immediately then you can get it by installing the update manually.

Before you install the update by flashing firmware make sure to check the update in your settings. Open Settings on your Galaxy S9/S9+ then go to Software Update and refresh to search for a new updates. If you see the update download and install it.

You can also download Firmware for the latest build G96xFXXUCFTJ2 from Frija or Samfirm tool. The firmware is also available on trusted sites like Sammobile and Samfrew. And once you have the file, install it through the Odin flash tool. Make sure to flash userdata (Home CSC) file to keep your existing data.
