Samsung pushes Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to Galaxy A42 5G

In the past few days, a couple of mid-range A-series phones received Samsung’s newest One UI custom skin – One UI 4.0. Samsung pushed the Android 12-centric One UI 4.0 OTA to these A-series phones – the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52s 5G, and Galaxy A72. Now there’s news in the center that the major Android 12 update is now available for the Galaxy A42 5G. Here’s everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy A42 Android 12 update.

The Galaxy A42 5G was launched in 2020 with Android 10, later, the device received the Android 11 update. Now its a time for the second major OS upgrade. Samsung is pushing the new firmware on the Galaxy A42 5G with the A426BXXU3CUL9 software version. At the time of writing, the update is available in Poland, the rollout should expand to more countries in the coming days. The update is seeding with December 2021 monthly security patch.

Talking about the changes, then Samsung is seeding the update with a slew of new features like new widgets, very smooth animations while opening and closing of apps, overhauled quick panel, automatic dark mode for wallpapers, icons, and illustrations, new charging animation, and much more. If you live in Poland, then you can head over to the System Updates from the Settings app, then update your phone to the One UI 4.0 based Android 12 update. In case the update is not available on your device yet, you can wait for a few days, you can also update your phone manually if you want.

If you want the update immediately, then you can also manually install the update using firmware. You can download the firmware from Frija toolSamsung Firmware Downloader. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the Galaxy A42 firmware to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process. That’s it.
