Love Wallpapers? Don’t Miss This One UI 6.1 Feature

We have shared many customization guides that help you make your phone look better. And Today I have one more useful guide for you. It’s a guide for Samsung Galaxy phone users.

Samsung has rolled out the One UI 6.1 for many of its phones. If you haven’t received the update but your phone is eligible, you will receive the update through OTA soon.

The latest big update for Galaxy phones brings a bunch of new features. We already talked about many Galaxy AI features, but they are limited to flagship phones only. But the feature I am talking about today is available for most of the devices running on One UI 6.1.

With One UI 6.1, Samsung brought Frame and Effect options to customize wallpapers on the lock screen. If you don’t like reading changelog, then the chances are you may not be aware of this feature.

The Frame feature, in particular, is a cool feature that shows wallpaper within available frames. Also, if the wallpaper has an object, the frame acts as a highlighter for that object. The Effect feature changes the color of the wallpaper, the same feature as on the iPhone. There is also an effect that blurs the background.

Here’s how to use Frames and Effects to customize the home screen and lock screen wallpaper.

  1. Open Gallery or File Manager app and open the wallpaper that you like.
  2. Tap the three dots at the top right corner, and choose Set as Wallpaper option.

  3. Now choose whether you want to apply it on the home screen, lock screen, or both.
  4. It will open the customization page. At the bottom you will see two options Frame and Effect side by side.
  5. Tap on the Frame, and it will open the list of available frames. Check all the frames and choose the one you like. You can also choose the background color from the tab next to Frame.

  6. After setting your favorite frame and color, tap on the wallpaper, and the Frame tab will disappear.
  7. Next tap the Effect option and browse through the available effect. I like the Blur effect.

  8. After you find the perfect effect for your wallpaper, then finally tap Done.

In case the wallpaper is already applied, you can also follow these steps to trigger the customization page.

  1. Open the lock screen on your phone. Don’t unlock your phone yet.
  2. Touch and hold the screen, until it asks for a fingerprint or password.
  3. Unlock your phone using the preferred option, and it will open the lock screen editing page. Now you can customize following steps above.

If you haven’t tried it, you are going to love it mainly on wallpapers where the object covers more than half of the wallpaper. Let us know your thoughts about this new feature.
