The Galaxy Tab S6 is Samsung’s latest device to receive a major Android 11 (based One UI 3.1) update. Although, as per the official roadmap, the Galaxy Tab S6 is slated to get the newer update in May 2021. But Samsung loves to surprise Galaxy users by pushing the updates before ETA. In the early phase, the OTA is seeding in Germany and carries T865XXU4CUB7 firmware version, sooner it will be available for other regions as well. The major update weighs a whopping 2.2GB of download size, you can connect your tablet to a stable Wi-Fi network for sideloading the update without any interruptions. It is the second major OS update for the Galaxy Tab S6, as the tablet was announced in 2019 with One UI based Android Pie 9.0 OS.

As for now, the update is available for the LTE model of Galaxy Tab S6, hopefully, it will soon be available for 5G variant and Lite variant as well. Talking about the changes and features, then the newer build a slew of customization-based features like ability to add widget on lock screen, dynamic lock screen gets image categories, you can now add photo or video as a background for calls, adjustments for AOD, along with other One UI 3.1 features. For now, the complete changelog is not available, we’ll update this article once the official changelog is available to us.

Samsung always push the OTA in different batches, which means if you are from Germany, then you may have already received the update on your device. While, the users in other regions will get receive the update in the coming days.

In case you’ve not received the OTA yet, then you can manually check for updates simply go to Settings, then go to System > Software Update. It will show the available update that you can download and install on your phone.

Note: Before upgrading, make sure to charge your smartphone to at least 30%, also take a backup which will be beneficial in case of failure.

You can also download the firmware for your Galaxy smartphone manually once it is available on Samsung’s server, by following the below tips.

If you’re in a haste, then you update your device manually, using Frija tool, SamFirm tool, or SamMobile website. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the file to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process. That’s it.

Update 1: One UI 3.1 Update for Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Samsung now pushes the One UI 3.1 update to the more affordable Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The airborne build on Tab S6 Lite is weeding with P615XXU4CUBB software version number, it may weigh more than the usual monthly patches. If you’re using the tablet in France, then there are some chances that you may receive the update earlier than users in other regions. For now, the changelog is not available, but the update may bring same features which are coming on the vanilla Tab S6.
