The insane update run continues for Samsung Galaxy phones as the original Galaxy Z Flip is now also receiving the latest Android 13 and One UI 5 updates. As we mentioned in one of our latest stories, Samsung may finish the Android 13 based One UI 5 for Galaxy devices by this year, and with this rate, it seems possible. Yes, Samsung is hoping to do the same.
This week Samsung rolled out updates for the Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy A71, and Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Galaxy Z Flip is the second device to get the update today. And we are expecting updates for Samsung Galaxy phones almost every day. So if you have a Galaxy phone that hasn’t received the update, you can expect it soon.
The first Galaxy Z Flip, also known as the original Flip, was released in early 2020 with Android 10 by default. The first clamshell later received Android 11 and Android 12 updates. And the device is now getting the third major update which is Android 13.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G Android 13 update is rolling out to most parts of Europe with build number F707BXXU7IVK6. Apart from Europe, it is also rolling out in Australia. Currently, it is available for the 5G model and not the 4G version, but it is expected to get an update soon.
Talking about the new features, the update ships with a huge list of changes. The latest One UI 5 update comes with features such as new lock screen customization, new wallpapers, improved animations, large widgets, widgets stacking, new modes and routines, improved multitasking, and more. Users can also expect new security patch. All new features list are available here.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip user, you may have received the Android 13 update already, and if not then expect it soon. Sometimes the OTA update doesnโt appear in the notification, so I would suggest checking for the update regularly. To manually check for the update, go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
Before updating your Galaxy Z Flip 5G to Android 13 and One UI 5, take a backup of important data and charge the device to at least 50%.
