Samsung Galaxy S22 gets Android 13 in the US

After a few months of testing, Samsung released Android 13 stable in several regions last week. But it was not available for the unlocked model in the US. Finally, after a week, the stable Android 13 for unlocked Galaxy S22 series is going live in the US. This is a big update and there are many reasons to be excited about the update. If you have joined the beta program then you may already know what the new update offers in terms of features and smoothness. One UI 5 is said to be a nice update if you want nice animations without sacrificing speed.

The Galaxy S22 series is the first phone from Samsung to receive stable Android 13 based One UI 5 update. The series includes Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

One UI 5 update is rolling out for the unlocked models with the build number S90xU1UEU2BVJA. And since it is a major update expect it to be bigger in size. The update still has the October 2022 security patch.

In terms of new features, Galaxy S22 One UI 5 update in the US comes with many changes such as new lock screen customization, new widgets, privacy improvements, and more. You can check the full changelog on this page.

The update was already available in Asia, and Europe as well as carrier locked versions in the US. But if you have a carrier unlocked device, now you can update it too. As usual, the update is available in batch. This means it may take time to reach all devices.

To manually check for the update go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Once the update is available, download it and restart your phone to install it. Before you update your phone make sure to take backup of important data and charge your Galaxy to at least 50%.
