Samsung is expanding the availability of its latest One UI 5.1 custom skin. Last week, the company kicked off the new software for the Galaxy M53 5G and a couple of A-series phones. Now is the time for another M-series smartphone – the Galaxy M42 5G. The mid-ranger picks up the new software with a bunch of features, enhancements, and fixes.
Samsung Galaxy M42 5G starts getting the new software with the M426BXXU4DWB1 firmware version. At the time of writing, the update is seeding in India, broader rollout to follow soon. The update is already available to some users, weighing under 1GB, so, make sure you have enough space and storage on your device.
One UI 5.1 is the major upgrade rolling with a stack of new features and changes. The list of features includes new stock apps, a battery widget, a dynamic weather widget, allows editing EXIF information of images and videos, a better camera and gallery including quick access to selfie features, support for family sharing album in the gallery, quick access to Expert RAW, and many more.

If you are a proud Galaxy M42 5G owner and waiting for the One UI 5.1 upgrade, then you can now update your phone to the new firmware by navigating to Settings > Software Upgrade > Download and Install.
