This month Samsung rolled out the Android 12 update for a bunch of phones including the Galaxy M52 and Galaxy M21. And if you are a Galaxy M31s user, now you can enjoy Android 12 features too. Read on to know more about Android 12 for Galaxy M31s.
Samsung Galaxy M31s is a budget phone released in 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. And soon next year the device received its first major update in the form of Android 11 based One UI 3 update. And the device has now started receiving the second major update which is Android 12. The phone is still a good alternative to some of the latest phones and with Android 12 it will be even better.
The Android 12 based One UI 4.1 for Galaxy M31s is currently available in Russia with build version M317FXXU3DVD4. As this is a major update for the device, expect the update size to be larger than other security updates. So, make sure to use WiFi for easy updates.
Android 12 update also brings the March 2022 Android security patch to the device. Currently, we do not have the complete changelog for the update, but you can expect most of the Android 12 and One UI 4.1 features. Some of these features are new widgets, very smooth animations while opening and closing apps, overhauled quick panel, automatic dark mode for wallpapers, icons, and illustrations, new charging animation, and much more. The One UI 4.1 also brings some additional features like Google Duo live sharing feature, new image editing features including reflection and shadow eraser, share multiple files simultaneously using Quick Share feature, and more.
If you are a Galaxy M31s user in Russia then you should get the OTA update soon. Users from other regions will have to wait a little longer. Like other updates, Galaxy M31s Android 12 update is also rolling out in batches which means it will take time to reach all the eligible phones. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update.
You can also manually sideload the firmware if you want the update immediately. But it is recommended only to users who are well aware of the Odin tool. You can download the firmware from Frija tool, Samsung Firmware Downloader. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the firmware to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process and also charge it to at least 50%. That’s it.
