It’s been a long time since the affordable Galaxy M21 received a major update. Sure the device has received a few security patch updates but everyone is waiting for the Android 12 update. But wait no more as the stable Android 12 based One UI 4.1 finally goes live for the Samsung Galaxy M21. Samsung continue to impress users with faster updates. Read on to find out more about the Android 12 for Galaxy M21.
Last month we shared about Samsung testing the Android 12 internally for a bunch of affordable Samsung phones including the Galaxy M21. And finally, the testing has been done and the stable build goes public. This is the second major update for Galaxy M21 after the Android 11 update that was rolled out last year.
The Android 12 based One UI 4.1 comes with build version M215FXXU2CVCC and it is currently live in India. But soon it will go live in other regions as well. Since it is a major update, it weighs more than security patch updates.
Coming to changes, the Android 12 update on Galaxy M21 also brings the latest April 2022 Android security patch. You also get to taste One UI 4.1 features along with Android 12 features. These features include new widgets, very smooth animations while opening and closing apps, overhauled quick panel, automatic dark mode for wallpapers, icons, and illustrations, new charging animation, and much more. The One UI 4.1 also brings some additional features like Google Duo live sharing feature, new image editing features including reflection and shadow eraser, share multiple files simultaneously using Quick Share feature, and more.
As of now, we don’t have the complete changelog but you can expect most of the mentioned features. We will share the full changelog once it is available to us.
If you are a Galaxy M21 user in India then you should receive the Android 12 based One UI 4.1 through the OTA update. Since it is a staged rollout which means it can take a few days to reach all the eligible phones. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update.
You can also manually sideload the firmware if you want the update immediately. But it is recommended only to users who are well aware of the Odin tool. You can download the firmware from Frija tool, Samsung Firmware Downloader. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the firmware to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process and also charge it to at least 50%. That’s it.
