The original Galaxy Fold received the stable Android 12 based One UI 4.0 about two weeks ago and is now available for its 5G version as well. Since it is a device with a different form factor, the new update will bring new features as well as enhance the user experience for the big screen.
The Android 12 update for the Galaxy Fold 5G comes with the build number F907BXXU6GULB. This may vary by region. Since it is a major update, the update will weigh higher than other incremental updates. So make sure to update your phone using WiFi or check if you have enough internet data left. The stable Android 12 for the Galaxy Fold 5G is currently rolling out in the UK, and it will soon be available in other regions as well. So if you are a Galaxy Fold 5G user in the UK, you will get the OTA update soon. This is a staged rollout so it will take some time to be available to all users. If you don’t get notification of the OTA update, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software Update.
If you want the update immediately, then you can also manually install the update using firmware. You can download the firmware from Frija tool, Samsung Firmware Downloader. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the Galaxy Fold 5G firmware to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process. That’s it.
