Samsung Galaxy A71 5G Android 12 update reaches USA

Samsung is undoubtedly the big player when it comes to updates. And they’ve done a good job again this year by rolling out the latest Android 12 and One UI 4 updates to their most eligible phones. The Galaxy A71 5G first received the stable update in March in some regions. Now Stable Android 12 based One UI 4.1 for Galaxy A71 5G (US Cellular Locked) is available in the USA.

Since most phones in the USA come with a carrier lock, the update on these devices depends on the specific carriers. That’s why sometimes updates take a long time to arrive on carrier locked phones while unlocked users get the update faster. But both have their own advantages.

Galaxy A71 5G was released in 2020 with Android 10 OS. And the device received the Android 11 as the first major update in 2021. And about a year later, the device is finally getting the second major update which is Android 12. Since Galaxy A71 5G in other regions has received the Android 12 with One UI 4.1, we think it is available with One UI 4.1 in the USA as well.

The Android 12 for Galaxy A71 5G in the USA comes with firmware version A716USQU6EVD3. It is available to models that are locked to US Cellular carriers. As usual, the carrier has officially mentioned the update on their software update page.

Talking about changes, you will get the April 2022 Android security patch. It brings all the features that are available on the unlocked model that you can check by heading here.

If you own a US Cellular locked Galaxy A71 5G in the USA then you should receive the stable Android 12 OTA update soon. Expect the update size to be larger so make sure to use WiFi for the update process. Also, you can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software Update.
