Another Samsung Galaxy device joins the Android 11 party. And it is an entry level device from Samsung. The Galaxy A01 is now receiving the latest Android 11 based One UI 3 update with a bunch of new features. The first quarter of 2021 was dedicated to flagship and mid-range devices and it’s time for users with entry level phones to experience Android 11 updates. Here we will share everything about the Galaxy A01 Android 11 update.
Samsung is way ahead of any other OEM which offers a custom OS. And getting Android 11 on an entry level phone is just a myth for some OEM, but clearly, it is not Samsung. The Android 11 update is available to Galaxy A01 with One UI 3.
The Galaxy A01 was released back in 2019 with Android 10 based One UI 2.0 out of the box. Since its release, the device has received some One UI updates, but Android 11 is the first major Android update for the Galaxy A01. And it is natural that all Galaxy A01 users have great expectations with this update.
The Galaxy A01 Android 11 update is currently rolling out in Russia, but soon it will be available in other regions as well. It comes with the Firmware version A015FXXU4BUD8. Since it is a major update for the device, you should expect it to weigh higher in size. And so, we recommend using WiFi for the update.
Now coming to new features, the Android 11 update for Galaxy A01 brings the latest April 2021 Android security patch. We don’t have the changelog for the update, but we can expect features similar to other One UI 3 updates. The update is more likely to come with a slew of customization-based features like the ability to add widgets on the lock screen, smart home controls, dynamic lock screen gets image categories, you can now add photo or video as a background for calls, adjustments for AOD, along with other One UI 3.0 features. Other than that, you can access Android 11 features on your smartphone such as chat bubbles, one-time permission, etc.
Samsung Galaxy A01 One UI 3 update is available in Russia and as usual, it is rolling out in batches. Some users may have already received the Android 11 update on their Galaxy A01, and some might be still waiting for it. Sometimes, the update notification doesn’t show up, so in that case, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update. And it will show the latest update, click on Download & Install to install the update. We recommend taking a full backup and charging your device before updating.
If you haven’t received the Galaxy A01 Android 11 update yet, but you’re in a haste, then you can update your device manually. And for this, you need to download the latest Android 11 firmware from Frija tool, SamFirm tool, or Sammobile website. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the file to your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process. That’s it.

Samsung starts rolling out the Android 11 update in US for AT&T and Verizon models of Galaxy A01. The AT&T carrier model receives the update with A015AUCU4BUE3 firmware version, while the Verizon gets A015VVRU4BUE4 build. The device also gets updated May 2021 monthly security patch alongside the new features and improvements.
