At the SDC24 event, Samsung announced its plan to bring One UI to its Smart TVs. Later in October, Samsung started rolling out One UI for TVs in select Asian countries, and now the South Korean tech giant is expanding the release to other regions.
After bringing One UI for Samsung TVs in Canada, the update is now rolling out in the UK. Currently, it’s available for select TV models. It’s a TizenOS 8.0 based update.
A few days ago Dear-Ebb3158 informed about the update rolling out in Canada in the One UI subreddit. In the same post, a user from UK have confirmed that he have received the update on his TV model QE85QN85CATXXU. Given that the update is being rolling out first for 2023 and 2024 OLED and QLED TVs, if you have one of these, you will get the update early.
One UI brings a new design and many new features. The home screen now has three sections: For You, Live, and Apps. There are a number of improvements to the interface as well as improved animations that make the TV smoother. The left menu is still there with the same options.
The latest update makes it easier to use connected smart devices through the improved SmartThings app. Other new features include 3D Map view, Workout tracker, and Multi Control. These are just a few names, there are a bunch of other new features.
There isn’t much change in terms of UI, but the new software feels intuitive and offers a better experience.
Currently, the update is available for select models; however, we can expect the One UI update for other eligible models later this year or next year. If you have received One UI on your Samsung TV, let us know what you liked best in the new update.
