Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 Update now available in India (with Download Link)

Last month, Xiaomi pushed its newest custom skin – MIUI 12 update to the global variants of Redmi Note 8. Now the company has started rolling out MIUI 12 stable beta to the Redmi Note 8 Indian units. MIUI 12 stable beta build is seeding with 12.0.1.0.QCOINXM firmware version, as of course, it’s still based on Android 10. The new OTA measures approx. 2.0GB of download size. Although, as of now, Xiaomi has not confirmed the rollout of MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 8. A few users are reportedly receiving the new patch on their devices, it can also be sideloaded manually via recovery ROM.

The new patch on Redmi Note 8 pops up with new animations, intuitive UI, enhanced dark mode, new font, new navigation gestures, customizations, MIUI 12 Wallpapers, and much more. If you’re a pilot tester then, you’ll receive the new update earlier than normal users. But, if youโ€™re in a hurry then you can update your device manually with the recovery ROM. Hereโ€™s the download link.

Before upgrading your smartphone, I recommend you to take a backup, before diving in to the process and charge your device to at least 30%.

To sideload the recovery ROM package (Update file), you need to head over to the system settings, then updates, then select the update package manually. Allow the prompts to install the build.

Once the installation process is completed, reboot your Redmi Note 8, once done, you can start using your device running on MIUI 12 based Android 10. Thatโ€™s it.
