The last quarter of 2021 was all about Android 12, and it will continue to be a hot topic for the next few months until most devices get the stable Android 12 update. Of course, the majority here is among the eligible phones. Realme has already released the schedule for the Android 12 beta update. And as per the schedule, Realme announced Android 12 Open Beta for the Realme GT.

Earlier in October, Realme released Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 Early Access for the Realme GT. And now after almost two months of testing it in closed beta, the application for Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta is now available. Realme follows the update process as Closed Beta (Early Access), Open Beta, and then Final Stable Build. This means that the stable Android 12 for the Realme GT is expected to be available in January.

Realme UI 3.0 is based on Android 12 and so it brings many features that were introduced with Android 12. New features include new Widgets, animation, new icons, fluid interface, Omoji for 3D avatar, smart theming, and many other features. Unfortunately the interface will not be the same as stock Android 12.

The Realme GT Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta application is already available for users to apply. The application process is similar to what we saw in Realme UI 2.0. All you have to do is apply for Open Beta from Settings. First, make sure your device is updated to RMX2202_11.C.04. You can follow the steps given below to apply for Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta.

  • Open Settings on your Realme GT.
  • Go to Software Update and tap on the Settings icon present in the top right corner.
  • Next select Trial Version > Open Beta > Apply Now and submit your details.
  • Once done, the Realme team will review the application.
  • And if the application passes, Realme will push the update to your device.

Users who already opted for Early Access are not required to fill the application for Open Beta. They will get the beta update directly.

Before updating your device to Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta, make sure to take a full backup of your device and charge your device to at least 50%. Since it is a beta there can be some bugs. Realme has mentioned some common issues that a user can face after applying the beta update.

Common issues

a. After the upgrade, it may take a longer time to boot for the first time, especially if there are many third-party applications on your phone.

b. After the upgrade, in order to improve the system operation efficiency and eliminate potential safety risks, the system will perform a series of actions such as application adaptation, background optimization and security scanning which may cause slight hanging and faster power consumption.
