The Realme GT 2 Pro is the first Realme phone to get the Android 13 Early Access program. Android 13 is the latest Android version currently available in beta, but the stable update is coming soon. And as Google nears the Android 13 release, other OEMs are also preparing for an Android 13 based custom OS. And talking about Realme, the OEM now opens the Android 13 Early Access program for Realme GT 2 Pro.
Realme GT 2 Pro is the current flagship phone from Realme. And until the Android 13 based stable Realme UI 4.0 update is released, Realme will be testing the Android 13 beta on it only. The Realme UI 4.0 update is expected to release in the last quarter. But as of now, we don’t know whether the early access to Android 13 for the Realme GT 2 Pro is based on Realme UI 4. However, from some screenshots on the official page, the update appears to be based on Realme UI 3.0.
The Android 13 Early Access application is open to a limited number of users. Realme hasn’t mentioned the exact number of seats, but users who submit applications first will have more chances. The Early Access application starts on August 4th and there is no time limit but the number of seats available is limited.
Now if you are interested in trying out Android 13 Early Access on the Realme GT 2 Pro, you need to submit the application as soon as possible. But there are some points that you should know and follow before submitting the application.
- Make sure your phone is not rooted
- Update your Realme GT 2 Pro to the required version: RMX3301_11.A.16/ RMX3301_11.A.17
- It can have major bugs
Now to apply for the Realme GT 2 Pro Android 13 Early Access, follow these steps.
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Now go to About device > Realme UI icon and tap three dots on the top right corner.
- Select Trial Version > Early Access and tap Apply Now.
- Fill in the required information and tap Submit.
Now the Realme team will check your application. And if your application pass and seats are vacant then you will soon get an OTA update on your device. So check for updates after some time. If the update is available, be sure to take a full backup before installing the update.
Android 13 Early Access is one of the first few beta updates, so it could contain major bugs. I recommend installing it on the secondary phone and not as a daily driver. But if you’ve updated to Android 13 Early Access and now want to go back to stable Android 12, you’ll need to install the Rollback package on your phone. The rollback process will delete all the data.
