[Update: Vanilla Poco X3 as well] Poco X3 NFC starts receiving Android 11 based MIUI 12 Update

Poco X3 NFC is the latest Xiaomi phone that receiving a stable Android 11 update via MIUI 12. Till now only Poco F2 Pro and Poco X2 received the latest Android 11 update. And this makes the Poco X3, the third Poco phone to get Android 11. The Android 11 update for Poco X3 is currently available to limited users, and soon broad rollout will begin. Poco X3 NFC is the device released with Android 10 based MIUI 12 out of the box. And so, this will be the first major update for Poco X3 which is also based on MIUI 12. MIUI 12.5 is the latest update for Xiaomi phones but it is not available outside China, so users from other regions may have to wait more than expected.

The update is currently rolling out in Europe and other regions expected to join the party soon. Android 11 update for Poco X3 comes with build version V12.0.6.0.RJGEUXM. And since it is a major update, it will also weigh more in size which is around 2.3GB, so make sure you have enough data and space to update your phone.

If we talk about the new features, then yes you will be seeing many new features with this update. The first change is a security patch upgrade to February 2021, it is not the latest but still worth the upgrade. You will also get to experience most of the Android 11 features such as Chat Bubble, new Power Menu, Internal Audio recording, Smart Reply, interactive Media controls, Improved Security, and a few more features.

In case you want to try out the latest update before others, then you can manually install the correct firmware on your device. You can download the full recovery ROM for your region for manual installation.

You can sideload this package by booting your smartphone into stock recovery, then head over to apply an update from the SD card and select the downloaded package. That’s it.

Once the installation process is completed, reboot your Poco X3, once done, you can start using your device running on Android 11 based MIUI 12.
