Want to enable the battery bypass feature on a Samsung Galaxy phone? This guide is all you need to follow. Here you will learn everything about the Pause USB Power Delivery/Battery Bypass feature.
Smartphones are widely used for gaming and hence every vendor includes game specific features on their phones. Almost all phones these days come with an app specifically for gaming mode with names like Game Booster. The Samsung phone also has a dedicated app for gaming to enhance the gaming experience.
And over time the gaming mode also gets new features. Currently, in the Game Booster app for Samsung phones, the new feature is Pause USB Power Delivery. This is one of the best features to improve gaming without heating the device and sustaining battery health.
If you are a gamer then Pause USB Power Delivery is going to be a great feature for you. It is already available on some Galaxy phones. And it will be rolled out to other Galaxy devices sooner rather than later.
What does the Battery Bypass feature do?
On Samsung Phones the Battery Bypass is available through a feature called Pause USB Power Delivery. And as its name suggests, when enabled it stops the power transfer to battery and delivers the power directly to the processor. This means the battery percentage will remain the same during the whole gaming session. It also prevents the battery from heating up and hence fixes the frame drop issue which occurs due to heating issues.
As you know it’s a new feature, it is available only on a handful of Galaxy phones. But with time it will be available on more Galaxy phones. You can check the list below (to date).

How to enable Battery Bypass on Samsung
Battery Bypass or Pause USB Power Delivery is a feature of the Game Booster app. So first you need to install the latest version of the Game booster app. It looks like the feature is available on version 5.0.03.0 or newer. You can use the Galaxy App store to update the app.
Also, you need to connect your phone to your Samsungโs 25W charger. You can also use other certified 25W PD chargers as well. Once you have updated the Game booster app to the required version and connected your phone to the power source you can follow the given process.
- Open Game Launcher on your Samsung phone. If you donโt see it in the App drawer, search for Game Launcher.
- The app will show all the games installed on your Phone. Launch the game you want to play. Yes, the Battery Bypass works only while playing games.
- Once the game is opened, minimize it and go back to Game Launcher.
- Tap on the More option (three horizontal lines) present at the bottom. Select Game Booster.
- It will open the Game booster settings. Here you will find the Pause USB Power Delivery option. Turn the toggle to On.
- After enabling the feature, you can play the game and you will notice less heat and steady gaming performance.
In case you donโt see the Pause USB Delivery option, then your phone currently doesnโt support the feature. So you need to wait for the feature to reach your phone. You can keep checking the game booster update to use the feature as soon as it is available for your phone. Yes, your phone must support 25W charging.
The battery bypass doesnโt work like ROG phones. On Samsung phones, it reduces the battery charging to a certain wattage (6W) whereas on ROG phones it completely stops the charging. But you will not feel the 6W charging on your Samsung phone unless you test it. Well, it’s not a true battery bypass but it will reduce the heat generated by the battery during the charging hence the gameplay performance will be smooth and will not be affected.
