This is the time when smartphone OEMs start rolling out their latest version of the custom OS. And as we head towards the public release of Android 13, OEMs have already started internal testing for their new OS. Talking about OnePlus, their next OS version is going to be OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13. Recently OnePlus announced the OxygenOS 13 at the OnePlus 10T event which means official information is here. Here you will get to know about OxygenOS 13 supported devices, OxygenOS 13 release date, and its features.

Everyone knows OxygenOS for its near stock like UI with some extra features. But since OxygenOS 11, OnePlus has changed the UI and made it ColorOS-like. OnePlus even shifted to ColorOS in China. And with OxygenOS 12 it got worse. Even fast charging on OnePlus is now called Vooc instead of Warp Charging.

But can OnePlus make OxygenOS fun again with OxygenOS 13? Well, it depends on the features and changes that will come with OxygenOS 13. And if you want to know about OxygenOS 13, then you are at the right place. Let’s start with the release date.

OxygenOS 13 Features

OxygenOS 13 Release Date

As OxygenOS 13 is based on Android 13, its release also depends on Android 13. And as everyone knows that recently Google released the final Android 13 beta, so we can guess that the Android 13 stable build release is not far away.

At the OnePlus 10T event on August 3, OnePlus finally announced its latest custom OS OxygenOS 13. OnePlus showcased some new features at the event but not all. It will be available for beta testing soon. A few days back OnePlus revealed this in a tweet and finally, the OxygenOS 13 is announced. However, you have to wait before you can get your hands on the first beta. Until the stable release, OxygenOS 13 will be available for beta testing on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Coming to the stable OxygenOS 13 release, we are betting on October or early November. And as mentioned earlier, it will be first available on the OnePlus 10 Pro and then other eligible phones. If you don’t know, OnePlus is already testing the Android 13 developer preview on OnePlus 10 Pro but it does not come with OxygenOS 13.

OxygenOS 13 Features

Most of the users just want to get back the stock experience that OxygenOS was offering before. But there is only a little hope as everything OnePlus doing is the opposite. They even going to take away the alert slider soon.

At the launch event, the OnePlus representative mentioned that it went from good to great. But I will say let the people decide. And I am sure it will be good to bad.

A few days back we shared some expected features of OxygenOS 13 and all of the mentioned features are the exact same. However, there are some other features that I didn’t mention before. But as now all of its features are out let’s see what is Inspired by Nature and what is inspired by ColorOS.

New AOD Screen

Always on Display now comes with more functions other than showing time and notification icons. In AOD there is Spotify player and just below the player, there are some tracks recommendations or maybe upcoming tracks in the queue. Currently, in OxygenOS 12, it only shows the music icon in AOD. Also, OnePlus has added live notifications for food orders. Users will be able to see how much time is left and when the food arrives.

OxygenOS 13 Features

Canvas AOD

OxygenOS 13 brings more customizations and improvements in Canvas AOD, Insight AOD, and Bitmoji AOD. In OxygenOS 13, the Canvas will not overlap with the AOD content like Clock and Date. The portion of the Canvas that is overlapping will automatically be cut. Also, the Canvas AOD now comes with more tools, updated UI, faster image conversion, and more.

Bitmoji received some more rich content, scenarios based on Holidays, and more. Insight AOD is slightly improved as well.

OxygenOS 13 Features

UI Improvement

ColorOS 13 gets a visual refresh. It’s not a major refresh but OnePlus has added intuitive elements in some apps and various screens. The clock app gets a fluid clock animation that looks cool. It’s the Aquamorphic design that might be the coolest change in ColorOS 13. We will have more information on UI changes once the beta is available to users. You can also check the attached YouTube video for more Aquamorphic designs.

OxygenOS 13 features

Performance Improvement

OxygenOS 13 comes with improved performance in terms of accessing and interacting with UI as well as system performance. So basically the animations are going to be fluid. OnePlus mentioned Hyperboost and AI System booster for the improved gaming performance and smooth app opening. With Hyperboost, games will consume less power and will give better performance. Users can change from battery saver to professional gamer modes. We can only be sure about the improvement after the testing.

OxygenOS 13 features

Smart Launcher

The OxygenOS 13 launch also received improvements. Large and small folders dynamically adjust for enhanced organization. This is the same change we mentioned to be coming on ColorOS 13.

OxygenOS 13 features

Sidebar Floating Window

OxygenOS 13 brings the sidebar tools window. This will allow opening a set of tools over any apps to enhance productivity. I guess we can also choose which tools or apps to show in the floating window. So if you are in a zoom meeting and want to take notes or screenshots without switching to another app, this is going to be useful.

OxygenOS 13 features

Spatial Audio

This is one of the features that has been appearing on tech devices and OSs lately. OxygenOS 13 also brings Spatial Audio. It recreates a surround sound experience for a 3D output. Users can even choose the audio source direction.

Other changes in OxygenOS 13 include Fast Pair across devices, Audio switch between multiple connected devices, Improved Nearby Share, enhanced privacy, and more.

OxygenOS 13 Supported Devices

All the changes will only be effective and exciting only if OxygenOS 13 is going to be available for your phone. One good thing about OnePlus is they are transparent about the update policy. Update policy includes how many major Android updates and security update a particular OnePlus phone will get since its launch. And so with the help of the update policy and update history, we can guess OxygenOS 13 Eligible Devices list. below you can check the full list.
