OnePlus kicked-off the OxygenOS 12 developer preview aka closed beta program for OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in the month of May. Last month, the company has released the open beta build for the superior members of OnePlus 9 series. Now Oppo’s subsidiary has started recruiting OnePlus 9R users for OxygenOS 12 closed beta program. The newest skin of OnePlus – OxygenOS 12 is based on Android 12 and bags a bunch of new features. OnePlus shares the information of Closed Beta Test Program aka CBT on its community forum. The company says, “we’re looking for 150 OnePlus 9R users who can help us locate bugs, user experience, and share suggestions.” Yes, as for now, there are only 150 seats in the closed beta program, so, if you’re a OnePlus 9R owner and want to taste the new features of Android 12-based OxygenOS 12, then apply in the CBT program.
Before moving to the features and changes list, make sure that, the closed beta builds are not good for daily usage, we don’t recommend updating the primary phone to these builds.
In terms of features and changes, then the OOS 12 aka OxygenOS 12 comes with the Canvas AOD 2.0, Work Life Balance 2.0, new Notes app, Theme Store, new at-a-glance cards and widgets, system-wide search bar, and much more. - The CBT version is not the official version, which is still in developing and testing. After updating to CBT version, please be patient and tolerate its instability and accept all risks which might be caused by it
