Oppo starts testing ColorOS 12 on Oppo A74 5G via early access program

Earlier this month, Oppo kicked off ColorOS 12 beta testing program for Oppo A73 5G, Oppo F19 Pro+, and Reno 6Z 5G. The company has also released the official version of ColorOS 12 for the Find X2 series today. Now the news comes out that ColorOS 12 beta program is also available for the Oppo A74 5G. Oppo officially confirmed the early access program via its ColorOSGlobal Twitter handle. And as per the details, the early access goes live in India and Indonesia. There are a total of 5,000 seats in this program. Android 12-based ColorOS 12 is a feature-packed custom skin, before moving to the features, just want to mention that, make sure that your Oppo A74 5G is running on the A.12 software version, if your phone is on an older version, update it to the newer one.

Moving to the features list, then the ColorOS 12 comes with features such as the new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Oppo also packed its skin with a big list of aesthetic wallpapers, you can download these walls right here.

Although, the beta builds are not great for daily usage, but if you’re in a hurry and want to try out the new features of ColorOS 12 then you can join the beta program. Here are the steps to join the beta program.

  1. At first, Open the Settings app on your Oppo A74 5G.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon listed on the top-right corner.
  3. Now you’ll see a trial program option, tap on it.
  4. Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
  5. That’s it.

Now your application has been submitted, if there’s an empty slot in the beta program, then you’ll receive the update within the 3 days.

Before updating, make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, charge your device to at least 50%.
