Oppo rolls out stable Android 12 update for Oppo F17 and A73

Last month, Oppo initially started testing its newest Android 12 based ColorOS 12 skin on the Oppo F17 and Oppo A73. The company has today announced the stable Android 12 upgrade for the two Oppo phones. The firm has fulfilled its promise to release the update on May 26. If you’re an Oppo F17 or Oppo A73 user, then you can now try out the ColorOS 12 features on your device. But before doing it, here’s everything you need to know about the new update.

Oppo has officially confirmed rollout through its community forum. And as per the details, the update goes live in select regions, if you reside in India and own the Oppo F17, then you can now upgrade to Android 12. Whereas the new build for Oppo A73 is seeding in Vietnam. As it is a stable update, anyone can update their phone to the stable Android 12 update, yes, there are unlimited seats. Other than that, make sure that your smartphone needs to be running on C.19 software version number. Yes, currently the OTA is available only for the phones updated to C.19.

In terms of features, the ColorOS 12 firmware goes live for Oppo F17 and A73 with features like new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Oppo also packed its skin with a big list of aesthetic wallpapers, you can download these walls right here. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels.

Oppo is pushing the new software to both F17 and A73 with F.09 version number. The upgrade is already available to some Oppo F17 and A73 owners, if you own any of the two phones, then you can head over to the Settings > Software Update > ColorOS 12 version, then request an update. Once done, you will receive the ColorOS 12 build over the air with new features and goodies. In case the upgrade is not available then wait for a few days, also make sure that your phone is running on C.19 version.
