Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G gets Android 12 based ColorOS 12 update via beta program

Last month, Oppo launched the Reno7 series phones in India, the series has two phones to offer – the Reno7 and the Reno7 Pro 5G. As the name suggests, the Reno7 Pro 5G is the more premium of the two phones. Even though the two phones were launched last month, Oppo picks the Android 11-centric ColorOS 11 OS, instead of the ColorOS 12 launched last September. Nonetheless, the company has started recruiting the Reno7 Pro 5G users for the ColorOS 12. Yes, you can now join the beta program to get a taste of the Android 12 based ColorOS 12 skin. Oppo announced the beta testing program for Reno7 Pro 5G users in India and as per the details, your phone needs to be running on the C.12 or C.13 software version. If your smartphone is running on the previous version, then update it to any of these two builds, once done, you’re good to follow the steps to join the beta program. The testing program is open only for three days, it started yesterday and will be live till March 31. Yes, there are only two days left to join the recruitment program. And the first batch of the program has 5,000 limited seats, so be quick to join the ColorOS 12 beta program.

Moving to the features, then the Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G ColorOS 12 update brings features like the new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels and more stability across the system.

Now let’s take a look at how to join the ColorOS 12 beta program on Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G. Before moving ahead just want to tell you that beta builds are not good for daily use, I suggest you to try it on your secondary/separate phone.

  1. First, Open the Settings app on your Oppo Reno7 Pro 5G.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Now you’ll see a trial program option, tap on it.
  4. Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
  5. That’s it.

Now your application has been submitted successfully if there’s an empty slot (5,000 seats) in the beta program, then you’ll receive the update within 3 days. Also, make sure to charge your phone to at least 50%.
