Oppo Reno 7 5G starts receiving stable Android 12 Update

Another Oppo phone is getting a stable Android 12 based ColorOS 12 update. So that leads to two phones in two days. Yesterday Oppo released the stable Android 12 to Oppo K10. Earlier this month Oppo released the roadmap for June month and according to the roadmap, both Oppo K10 and Oppo Reno 7 5G were to get stable ColorOS 12 from June 15. But Oppo is a couple of days ahead of schedule.

About a month ago Oppo Reno 7 5G got Android 12 via the ColorOS 12 Beta update. And about a month later it finally goes live to every user. Oppo takes a month between beta and stable update for almost all of its phones.

The stable Android 12 based ColorOS 12 update for Reno 7 5G goes live in India. And the update comes with build number C.18. Reno7 5G is a new phone launcher in February this year with Android 11 OS. And so this is the first major update for the device. The update size can be more than a GB so make sure to use WiFi for updating your phone.

Coming to the interesting section that will make you update to the new version as soon as it is available. Yes, I am talking about the new Android 12 and ColorOS 12 features. Oppo Reno 7 5G ColorOS 12 update brings features like Wallpaper-based theming, more default Google apps, Privacy dashboard, Dark Mode enhancements, 3D textured icons, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Oppo also packed its skin with a big list of aesthetic wallpapers, you can download these walls right here. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels.

As mentioned earlier the Reno 7 5G Android 12 update is available in India, so if you are an Oppo Reno7 5G user in India you will receive the OTA update directly on your phone. But you need to achieve the requirements to get the update.

Your Oppo Reno7 5G must be running on the latest version A.14/A.15. This does not apply to users who are already using the ColorOS 12 Beta.

Sometimes the OTA notification doesn’t work so make sure to update manually by going to Settings > Software Update and search for the latest update.

Before updating your phone to a new version, make sure to take backup of your data and charge your phone to at least 50%.
