Oppo releases Android 12-based ColorOS 12 stable update for Reno 5 and Reno 6

Just a few days ago, Oppo released ColorOS 12 beta program for Reno 5 and Reno 6 series phones. Surprisingly, within a week of the beta release, the company has started pushing the stable build to both phones. The latest OS is seeding with a big list of features, improvements, and fixes. Earlier, this week, the Reno 5 Pro and Reno 6 Pro received stable builds. Now, the update is out for the Reno 5 and Reno 6. According to the details shared by Oppo, currently, the stable update is available in select regions. It is available in Indonesia for Reno 5, however, the Reno 6 receives the new update in India, Indonesia, and Vietnam. It will join other regions in the coming days.

As always, Oppo recommends the Reno 5 and Reno 6 users upgrade their phones to the latest available software version, which is A.30 for Reno 5 and A.18 for Reno 6 users. Talking about the features, then the ColorOS 12 is seeding with new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features.

If you want to upgrade your Reno 5 or Reno 6 series phone to the new version, then you can follow these steps.

  1. At first, Open the Settings app on your Oppo Find X2 series phone.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon listed on the top-right corner.
  3. Now you’ll see a official version instead of trail program, tap on it.
  4. Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
  5. That’s it.

Before updating your device via special OTA, make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, charge your device to at least 50 percent. As I mentioned earlier, the update comes with a number of useful features, enhancements, along with the updated monthly security.
