Oppo has announced ColorOS 12 based Android 12 beta testing program for two recently launched Oppo phones. The two phones are – Oppo F21 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno7 Z 5G. Both phones were launched in March and April but shipped with the ColorOS 12-based Android 11 OS last year. The company started testing the new skin with Android 12 on the two phones. Oppo has officially confirmed the beta testing program on through its @ColorOSGlobal Twitter handle. And according to the details, shared on Oppo’s community forum, there are 5,000 slots in the beta testing for each model. The program is live in India for Oppo F21 Pro 5G; Reno7 Z 5G owners can try the new update in Indonesia. Also, make sure that your smartphone is running on the newest available software version which is A.13 for F21 Pro 5G and A.14 for Reno7 Z 5G.
Speaking about the features, then Oppo is pushing the Android 12-centric ColorOS 12 skin with features such as new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Before moving ahead just want to tell you that beta builds are not good for daily use, I suggest you to try it on your secondary/separate phone.
- First, Open the Settings app.
- Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Now you’ll see a trial program option, tap on it.
- Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
- That’s it.
Now your application has been submitted successfully if the beta program has some empty slots, then you’ll receive the update within 3 days. Also, make sure to charge your phone to at least 50%.
