Oppo A53s 5G gets ColorOS 12 based Android 12 update via beta program

Every month, Oppo drops a detailed timeline for the phones eligible for ColorOS 12. Now for this month, the company has promised to start ColorOS 12 beta testing for Oppo A53s 5G on March 15. And Oppo has fulfilled its promise by releasing the update on the same day. Yes, if you’re using the Oppo A53s 5G then you can join the trial program to try out Oppo’s newest custom skin – ColorOS 12 based on Android 12. Read along to know more about the beta testing program.

As always, Oppo has shared the details about the beta testing program on its community forum. And as per the details, there are only two days for users to take a part in the testing program, while the update will join the A53s 5G units in the next three days. But before you apply, make sure that your smartphone is running on the A.08 / A.09 software version, moreover, the beta program is limited to the Indian region, will join other regions very soon. The company also mentioned the number of seats available in the beta testing program, there are 5,000 seats this time.

Moving to the changes, then the ColorOS 12 has a slew of useful features such as the new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Oppo also packed its skin with a big list of aesthetic wallpapers, you can download these walls right here. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels.

If you own the Oppo A53s 5G and want to taste the features of ColorOS 12, then you can take a part in the beta program. However, beta builds are not good for daily use, I suggest you to try it on your secondary / separate phone.

  1. At first, Open the Settings app on your Oppo A53s 5G.
  2. Now head over to the Software update and click on the gear icon listed on the top-right corner.
  3. Now you’ll see a trial program option, tap on it.
  4. Enter the required details in the forum shared by the company.
  5. That’s it.

Now your application has been submitted successfully if there’s an empty slot (5,000 seats) in the beta program, then you’ll receive the update within the 3 days. Also, make sure to charge your phone to at least 50%.
