OnePlus Nord 2 gets June 2022 Patch with incremental A.21 update (Not OOS 12 based)

In the last week of last month, OnePlus surprisingly released the stable Android 12 based OxygenOS 12.1 update to the OnePlus Nord 2 just after releasing a second Android 12 open beta. The OnePlus Nord 2 was a bit late in receiving the update than our expectations. It got the Android 12 update even after the first Nord phone.

Now today, the company has released a new incremental update. Surprisingly the new update is based on OxygenOS 11 and not the OxygenOS 12 which was released two weeks ago.

This can be great for OnePlus Nord 2 users who don’t want to switch to OxygenOS 12, or those who didn’t receive the OxygenOS 12 update till now. If the second case exists, OnePlus should have completed the OnePlus Nord 2 Android 12 update rollout by now as it is already two weeks since the release of the update.

And since it is the incremental Oxygen OS 11 update even after the rollout of Android 12 we can not expect much of changes but rather fix for any bugs and security upgrade.

The new incremental OxygenOS 12.1 update for the OnePlus Nord 2 is currently live in India and Europe with build number DN2101_11_A.21 (India) and DN2103_11_A.21 (Europe). As it is a small incremental update, it should not weigh much. The update size also depends on the update you are coming from.

The OxygenOS A.21 update for the OnePlus Nord 2 improves the security patch to the latest version available.

OnePlus Nord 2 OOS 11 A.21 Update Changelog

  • System
    • [Updated] Android security patch to 2022.06

If you are a OnePlus Nord 2 user in India or Europe and have not updated to Android 12 then you should get the A.21 OTA update soon. The update will not be available to users who already got the Android 12 update.

You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > System > System Update. And if the update is not available, you also have the option to sideload the OTA zip file to update immediately. But for this, you need A.21 OTA zip file that you can get from Oxygen Updater app or other trusted sources.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
