OnePlus kicks off new OxygenOS update for 8 series phones with February security patch

OnePlus has just released an incremental OxygenOS update for OnePlus 8 series phones, the new build coming after two months of OxygenOS 11.0.10.10. The latest incremental build is labeled with OxygenOS 11.0.11.11 number, available for both OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The new software comes with the newer monthly security patch alongside the system enhancements. Here’s everything you need to know about OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro OxygeOS 11.0.11.11 update.

As of now, the update is in a rolling phase. OnePlus didn’t officially confirm the rollout yet, but it is already available for select OnePlus 8 series phones, we’ve just received the OTA. The new build comes with OxygenOS 11.0.11.11.IN11DA build number. We can expect a wider rollout in the coming days. It is a small upgrade that weighs only 113MB in size for downloading. It is available for both OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones.

Apart from the new OxygenOS incremental update, the company is also working on the second major OS upgrade. Yes, I am talking about the upcoming OxygenOS 12 update. Yesterday, OnePlus started testing it on 8 series phones through an open beta program, you can move to this page for more details on open beta.

Moving back to the incremental upgrade, then the latest update is seeding with February 2022 monthly security patch. We can also expect more stability to the system with this release. The changelog of this release is relatively small comparing the previous update, here’s the new changelog.

You can move to Settings > System > System Update to check the new updates.

OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from Oxygen Update or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
