OnePlus 9RT now receives Android 13 based OxygenOS 13 stable update

Three months back, OnePlus originally started testing Android 13 based OxygenOS 13 on the OnePlus 9RT through the closed beta program. Last month, the firm released the open beta build for more users. Now after three months of testing, the company has finally started rolling the stable version of OxygenOS 13 to the OnePlus 9RT. The new software is seeding with a flurry of new features, improvements, and fixes. Read along to know more about the OnePlus 9RT Android 13 update.

OnePlus plants the new firmware on the OnePlus 9RT with the MT2111_11_F.11 firmware version. At the time of writing, the update is in a rolling phase and will be available to everyone in a matter of time. Make sure that your OnePlus 9RT is running on the newest available software version. Usually, OnePlus officially confirmed the rollout on its support forum, but the company has not confirmed it yet, instead, many OnePlus 9RT users allegedly received the new firmware.

The official version of OxygenOS 13 brings October 2022 monthly security patch to the OnePlus 9RT. Android 13-centric OxygenOS 13 is a major upgrade for the OnePlus 9RT, which also means it needs more data for downloading. Talking about this build, then it weighs a whopping 5GB in size.

As the company has not confirmed the rollout yet, the changelog is not available to us. But the update will bring a stack of new features to the smartphone, the feature list includes Aquamorphic design elements to the OS, a new world clock widget for the home screen, a Quantum Animation Engine 4.0 upgrade, the ability to create large folders on home screen, media playback control optimization to the Quick Settings, new markup tools for screenshot editing, sidebar toolbox for managing floating window apps, a number of optimizations for Always-On display, HyperBoost GPA 4.0 for better gaming performance, and more.

Now if you own the OnePlus 9RT and want to upgrade to the new software, then you can go to the Software upgrades settings and check if there’s a new update available or not. In case the update is not available yet, you can wait for a few days. OnePlus usually releases major upgrades in a staged manner.

If you are in a hurry, then you can upgrade your phone manually using the OnePlus updater app, then sideload it using the local upgrade method. Before upgrading make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, make sure to charge your smartphone to at least 30%.
