The OnePlus 8 is last year’s flagship phone series which is now getting an incremental update with the latest security patch. The last update was rolled out about two weeks ago for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro with multiple bug fixes. Past few OnePlus 8 series incremental updates are only for bug fixes. OnePlus seeding OxygenOS 11.0.7.7 for the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro in all regions. For the OnePlus 8, the latest OxygenOS 11.0.7.7 comes with build number 11.0.7.7.IN21XA whereas the OxygenOS 11.0.7.7 for the OnePlus 8 Pro comes with build number 11.0.7.7.IN11XA. It is a very small update that measures less than 100MB.
We have seen multiple new features in the past few OxygenOS beta for the OnePlus 8 series. But these new features are still not available to the public. The last Open Beta brings the support for Bitmoji in AOD which we can expect in later updates.
Talking about the changes in the OnePlus 8 Pro OxygenOS 11.0.7.7, the main highlight of the update is the latest security patch. It brings the June 2021 Android security patch on the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro. Other than the security bump, it also comes with a few bug fixes. The new incremental update hitting OnePlus 8 Series phones in batches. It means some users may have already received the update by now while the remaining users have to wait for the update. In case you want to check for the update go to Settings > System > System Update. And once you see the latest update click on Download & Install to get the update.
In case if you don’t see the update in System updates but want to update immediately. Then you can download the update file from the Oxygen Updater app or any trusted websites. And then you can install it from Settings > System > System updates > Settings icon > Local Upgrade. Now select the downloaded file and wait for the process.
