OnePlus kicks off a minor incremental upgrade for OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus has just released a new incremental upgrade for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The latest incremental upgrade is rolling with C.17 version number, the new update comes after three weeks of the C.16 build. OnePlus addresses the messaging issues and other system issues in this build. Read along to know more about the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro OxygenOS 12 C.17 update.

The new firmware is rolling with the IN2021_11.C.17_1170_202204272227 firmware version to the OnePlus 8 Pro, while the vanilla OnePlus 8 picks up the new update with the IN2021_11.C.17_1170_202204272225 software version. It is a minor upgrade, it weighs only 93MB in size, you can quickly download it on your smartphone on cellular data or WiFi. The update is rolling in a staged manner and will be available to everyone within a few days, some users have already received the new firmware. Currently, the C.17 build is available in India, we can expect wider rollout in coming days.

Moving to the changes, then As I said earlier, the upgrade brings a fix for users who are facing issues while sending and receiving messages, other than that, you can expect more stability across the system. The security patch remains unchanged on this build, yes, the upgrade is still based on March 2022 monthly security patch. If you are a OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro user, then you can check for the update from Settings > System > System Update. OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from Oxygen Update or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
