OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro starts getting OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update

After releasing the new incremental update for the OnePlus 7 series. OnePlus has kicked off the new update for the 7T series. The latest update is tagged with the 11.0.5.1 version number. The newest build is focused on the bug fixes side and also brings a December 2021 security patch. Read along to know more about this update.

OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update is available for both OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. The update goes live for Global, European, and units in India. If you own the 7T in India or NA then you’ll get the update with 11.0.5.1.HD65AA build number, while the build is 11.0.5.1.HD65BA for European models.

The Pro model receives the new update with 11.0.5.1.HD01AA build number in India and NA, 11.0.5.1.HD65BA for Europe. It is a small incremental update measuring only 92MB of download size.

Moving to the changes then, the new update brings a fix to the WhatsApp issue of not sending or receiving media files. Apart from that, the update comes with the mere December 2021 monthly security patch and also brings stability improvements. Here’s the changelog shared by OnePlus.

    • Fixed the issue that WhatsApp cannot send and receive media files
    • Updated Android Security Patch to 2021.12
    • Improved system stability

OnePlus has officially shared the details of the new update through its community forum, the update has already been pushed to the staged rollout and will be available to everyone in the coming days. You can move to Settings > System > System Update to check the new updates and download the newer version if available.

OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from Oxygen Update or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
