OnePlus 7 and 7T series receive April 2022 security patch with new update

Last month, OnePlus started testing OxygenOS 12 on OnePlus 7 and 7T series phones through the closed beta program. As the testing is still underway for the 7 and 7T series, OnePlus has kicked off the incremental security upgrade for the two phones and its Pro variants. OnePlus is seeding the new software with OxygenOS 11.0.7.1 version number and it is seeding with the April 2022 monthly security patch. Read along to know more details about the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro OxygenOS 11.0.7.1 update.

As per the details shared by OnePlus on its community forum, the new software is seeding to all three variants (EU, IN, and NA) of the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro, while the update is live in EU and NA regions for the 7 and 7 Pro. It is a minor software upgrade and weighs only 143MB in size for download.

OnePlus plants the new software on the OnePlus 7 with 11.0.7.1.GM57BA (EU) and 11.0.7.1.GM57AA (NA) firmware version, 7 Pro gets it with 11.0.7.1.GM21BA (EU) and 11.0.7.1.GM21AAโ€‹ (NA). Moving to the 7T series, then the software is rolling to the vanilla 7T with 11.0.7.1.HD65AA (IN), 11.0.7.1.HD65BA (EU), and 11.0.7.1.HD65AA (NA), while the 7T Pro receives new firmware with 11.0.7.1.HD01AA (IN), 11.0.7.1.HD01BA (EU), and 11.0.7.1.HD01AA (NA).

Moving to the features and changes, then the new software is rolling with April 2022 monthly security patch along with the bugs fixes and improvements. Here’s the changelog shared by OnePlus.

As I said earlier, OnePlus has officially shared the details of the new update. As per the information available on the forum, the update has already been pushed to the staged rollout and will be available to everyone in the coming days. You can move to Settings > System > System Update to check the new updates and download the newer version if available.

OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from Oxygen Update or from the official OnePlus download page.

Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
