A new update is now rolling out for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The last update for the OnePlus 7 series was released in October. And over the past few weeks, several OnePlus phones have received the December 2021 security patch along with the recent update. But it was due for the OnePlus 7 series. Here you can see what’s new in the OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update for the OnePlus 7 series.
OnePlus has already started rolling out OxygenOS 12 for its latest phones and will soon be available on the rest of the eligible devices. OnePlus hasn’t forgotten the security and monthly patches and is actively rolling out these updates. OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro are now the latest phones to receive a new OxygenOS 11 incremental update.
OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 for OnePlus 7 Series
The new OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 7 comes with the build number OxygenOS 11.0.5.1. And it is currently available in European and Global variants. This is a small monthly update that comes with only a few improvements and hence weighs less as compared to other major updates. You can check out the full changelog below.

The main highlight of the update is it brings the latest December 2021 Security Patch on OnePlus 7 series.
As usual, it rolls out in different batches. This means it can take a few days to be available on all eligible devices. In case the update notification doesn’t arrive on your phone, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Update.
OnePlus also allows sideloading OTA updates if your device is running on the latest required version. So if you want to manually update your phone, you can download the OTA package from Oxygen Update or from the official OnePlus download page.
Before upgrading to the latest version, make sure to take a backup of your data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
