One UI 5 beta program goes live for OG Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G

After pushing the stable One UI 5.0 to the Galaxy S22 lineup, the company has expanded the beta testing to more premium phones. This time, the company has announced the One UI 5 beta program for the original Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The first-generation Galaxy clamshell owners can upgrade to the major Android 13 upgrade. If you own the Galaxy Z Flip or Z Flip 5G and live in South Korea, then you can upgrade your phone to the anticipated Android 13-centric One UI 5 beta. The testing program will be expanded to more countries in the coming days, the other markets in which the beta testing program will go live are the US, UK, European countries, India, China, and Germany.

The first-generation Galaxy clamshell was announced with Android 10 OS, and it picked up the first major software upgrade – Android 11 in December 2020. Android 12 was the second big upgrade for the clamshell rolled out last December. Last month, the Flippy boi received the incremental One UI 4.1.1 update, and, now the device is all set to pick the next big software, known as, One UI 5.

Now if you want to try out the new features available on the One UI 5.0 on your Galaxy Z Flip or Flip 5G, then you need to take a part in the beta program. Talking about the features and changes, then Samsung is pushing the new Android 13 software on compatible phones with a slew of new features such as new lock screen personalization features, new wallpapers, widget stacking, new modes and routines, improved multitasking, smoother animations, and many more. As this is the first beta build for the Galaxy Z Flip or Flip 5G, you may face some bugs, we donโ€™t recommend you install the beta build on your primary smartphone, but still, if youโ€™re in a hurry, then you can opt in the beta program.
