NVIDIA starts rolling out Android TV 11 to Shield TV

The much awaited update Android TV 11 is finally here for the Shield TV. Yes, NVIDIA finally releases the Android 11 update for Shield TV. Shield TV devices are the Android TV boxes from NVIDIA. And now all the Shield TV devices are getting Android TV 11 update. Even the first Android TV box from NVIDIA which was released in 2015 is also getting the update.

NVIDIA skipped the Android TV 10 update for its Shield TV devices saying it carries minimal changes. And so all Shield TV has been running Android 9 for a couple of years now. The Android 11 update will surely add a bunch of changes and features. The best part is all the Android TV boxes from NVIDIA are getting the update.

The Android 11 arrives on Shield TV with Shield Experience 9.0 update. It was spotted earlier in testing, but now it is rolling out to users. The new feature includes new privacy features and a new default keyboard with built in text to speech function. Below you can check other changes.

  • Adds option to automatically disconnect Bluetooth devices on sleep
  • Adds option to match content audio resolution (high resolution audio)

  • Adds new Energy saver setting for additional power customization
  • Adds Stadia button support to XBOX, Playstation, and SHIELD controllers
  • Additional bug fixes
