Nothing Phone 1 was one of the most anticipated phones of last year. And the only reason was Glyph Lighting. But I think the stock Android experience is the best thing that has been included in the device. However, the device is scheduled to receive the Android 13 update quite late considering it is the only smartphone from Nothing.
It’s only been a week since the Android 13 based Nothing OS 1.5 second open beta was released. And a new update is already rolling out. The new update is not a full release but a hotfix update for the second Android 13 open beta. And so it does not bring anything new except bug fixes.
Last year, Nothing released a statement that the phone will get its first major update to Android 13 and Nothing OS 1.5 in 2023 and not 2022. The company, backed by Carl Pei, released a closed beta in late November.
Later in mid-December, the Nothing Phone 1 received the first Android 13 open beta based on Nothing OS 1.5. And almost a month later, the device received the second Android 13 beta update with some new features and changes.
The latest hotfix OTA update for Nothing Phone 1 comes with build number TKQ1.220915.002/1673708663. Since it is a small OTA update, it weighs quite less. And it’s rolling out in Europe. Talking about bug fix, it fixes the bug related to the device showing incorrect RAM configuration and some other bugs.
If you’ve opted into the Android 13 open beta program and are already on the second open beta, you’ll get the small OTA update soon. Remember that this is a beta update and hence it may contain minor as well as major bugs. Also, the stable update can be released soon. So if you haven’t opted for the beta, you can wait for the stable build. We’ll let you know once the update is available.
