Summarize This Article:

During the launch of Nothing Phone 3, Carl Pie confirmed that Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16, would arrive this autumn. Today, the company has begun testing the upcoming software and has started recruiting testers to participate in the beta program.

If you own the Nothing Phone 3, you can take part in the closed beta program to try out the new software update. The company says the initial build will focus on “Android 16’s native features as well as implementing a more robust design system, which will set the foundation for a more cohesive UI moving forward.”

Nothing says you should apply only if you own the Nothing Phone 3 and use it regularly, are willing to give regular feedback to the Nothing team, maintain “high standard of information security”, and understand the risks associated with beta updates.

It’s important to note that early beta builds are not ideal for daily use; they may contain bugs and stability issues.

If you agree with the above policies, you can fill in your details in the Closed Beta Sign Up Form shared by the company before 5PM BST on Sunday, 3rd August 2025.

Nothing is planning to release the first open beta of Nothing OS 4.0 based Android 16 for Nothing Phone 3 in September. Later, the company is expected to expand the availability to more phones, including the Phone 3a series and more.
