Google is set to release the Stable Android 16 to the public soon. However, several devices, including the Motorola ThinkPhone haven’t received the official Android 15 update yet. Fortunately, we now know when the Motorola ThinkPhone will receive the Android 15 update.
Motorola ThinkPhone was released in early 2023, and it was a solid phone of its time. The phone was running Android 13 out of the box and later received Android 14 as its first major update. The device is now set to receive its second major update, Android 15, later this month.
Rogers and Fido, two popular carriers in Canada, recently unveiled their update roadmap for June, and it includes plans for Motorola ThinkPhone as well.
As per carriers official timeline, the Motorola ThinkPhone will start receiving the Android 15 update from June 9 at least in Canada. The update is expected to roll out to other regions within this month as well.
ThinkPhone by Motorola is eligible for three years of OS updates, which means it is also eligible for Android 16. Therefore, Android 15 is not the end of the device’s software support.
As for the changes and new features, you can expect a host of new features and changes on your Motorola ThinkPhone with the Android 15 update. These changes include improved user interface, a bunch of customization features, a modern control center, new fonts, app cloning, and more. It may also include an updated Android security patch.
If you own a Motorola ThinkPhone, the Android 15 update may arrive via OTA in June. As usual, it will a staged rollout, which means it can take a fews weeks to reach everyone. You can manually check for the update from Settings. After downloading the update, make sure to back up important data before installing it.
