Motorola has quite less number of devices eligible for Android 12 as compared to some other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo. But instead, Motorola lags behind in updates from these brands. But in Motorola it is worth the wait as the update comes with a stock Android like UI, which is where most of the changes have been made.
Motorola Edge 20 Pro was released last year in August with Android 11 OS. So this is the first major update for the device. The Android 12 for Motorola Edge 20 Pro comes with build number S1RA32.41-20-16 and is available for model XT2153-1-DS. Yes, the update weighs more than regular updates since it is a major update.
Now coming to changes and new features you can expect most of the Android 12 stock features. It includes Material You, new notification panel, new widgets, and a bunch of security and privacy features. Apart from that, the update comes with a slew of customization options such as font style, size, colors, icon shapes, layouts, wallpapers, and more from the home screen menu. At the moment, the changelog is not available to us, but you can expect all above-mentioned features in this update.
The stable Android 12 for Motorola Edge 20 Pro is currently live in Brazil. But users from different regions can expect the update to arrive soon. If you are an Edge 20 Pro user in Brazil you will get the OTA update soon if you haven’t received it yet. As usual, it is a staged rollout so some of you may have to wait a little longer. In case you don’t get update notifications on your phone, then you can manually check for the update in Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and check for the new updates.
If the update is not available, you can wait for a few days or update it manually. Before updating your Motorola Edge 20 Pro to Android 12 make sure to charge it to at least 50% and also make a backup of important data.
